              Sometime after serving on the USS Stevens (DD 479) as a Watertender 2/c, Sam Glanzman became a widely known comic book creator.  He is regarded a genius by many comic book enthusiasts for his semi autobiographical USS Stevens series that was syndicated in comic book format in the late 60s through the late 70s.  "A Sailor's Story, Book One and Book Two" were published in 1987 & 1989 respectively by Marvel Entertainment Group as graphic novels.  Book One can be found at Alibris www.alibris.com and Book Two can be found at Amazon www.amazon.com.
